Syte

Syte runs a product discovery platform for online retailers built around visual AI. A shopper can upload a picture and get lookalike products from the retailer's range, and the platform labels each item automatically so text search and merchandising work better. Started in 2015 as an image search company, Syte is now marketed as Syte by Nayax; the data protection terms list Nayax, a payments and commerce group from Israel, as the provider.

What Syte offers

• Visual and camera search — image-based search and an inspiration gallery that point shoppers to matching products.
• Visual recommendation engines — Shop Similar, Shop the Look or Room, Shop Social and further variants.
• Personalised recommendations — product suggestions shaped by each shopper's behaviour.
• AI tagging and merchandising — automatic labelling of product attributes, managed through a lexicon manager and tag editor.
• Integration options — API, JavaScript and e-commerce platform plug-ins.

Who it works with

Syte concentrates on apparel, jewellery and home decor retailers and says it powers discovery for more than 100 brands. Users it quotes come from Venca, Signet UK, Falabella, Castorama and Brico Dépôt, CITY Furniture and Baycrew's, and Decathlon features as a case study.
