sK1 Project

sK1 Project develops free, open-source graphics software: sK1, a vector drawing program for Windows and Linux, and UniConvertor, which converts files between vector formats from the command line. The project positions sK1 as an alternative to commercial illustration packages such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator and Freehand, with a prepress focus: the editor works in CMYK and writes CMYK-based PDF and PostScript output.

What sK1 Project offers

• sK1 2.0 — a cross-platform vector editor under GPL v3, written in Python on Cairo, LCMS2, Pango and wxWidgets.
• UniConvertor 2.0 — both a conversion tool and a library, built on the document model that sK1 relies on to open and save files; released under AGPL v3 for macOS, Windows and Linux.
• Smaller tools — LinCutter for vinyl cutting plotters, a colour picker, a viewer for Windows Metafile images, an explorer for CorelDRAW files, and wixpy, which builds MSI installers from JSON.
• Linux packages — DEB and RPM packages as the recommended install route.
