Gateway Ticketing Systems makes ticketing and admission control software for visitor attractions. It is based in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, with a UK managing director, and it says the business was started in the town of Oley by a programmer, a short-order cook and his college roommate.

Who uses it

Gateway serves theme parks and waterparks, tours and attractions, zoos and aquariums, museums, and ferry and bus operators. Its company page says the software runs at more than 450 sites in 35 countries, that its customers sell about 350 million tickets a year, and that it has more than 150 staff. It also runs a user community and learning programmes for customers.
