commercetools

commercetools provides the software backbone that large companies use to sell online, in stores, in chat and through AI agents. The company, based in Germany, describes itself as the inventor of headless commerce, and its APIs sit behind shopping experiences for hundreds of millions of shoppers.

What commercetools offers

• Unified commerce platform — B2C, B2B and hybrid models on one system, without separate stacks or duplicate integrations.
• Agentic commerce — companies set pricing, compliance and workflow rules, then decide how much AI automates, from exceptions to full end-to-end processing.
• Storefront builder — AI-assisted tools the company says can have an online store running in about 30 minutes.
• B2B commerce — digitised workflows for complex business buying, with personalised buyer experiences.
• Channel tools — capabilities for physical retail, digital channels and conversational shopping.
