Formsite

Collecting orders, registrations, reservations or customer feedback online usually means building a form, hosting it and sorting the results. Formsite does all three. It has been operating since 1998 and describes itself as a service where the customer designs a form and the company hosts it and processes what comes back.

Building a form

A drag-and-drop builder starts from more than 100 customizable templates and offers over 40 question types. Forms can run over several pages, apply logic, perform calculations, take file uploads and carry images or logos. Sub-users can be added for team members, and QR codes and CAPTCHA spam prevention are available. Look and feel tools start from pre-made themes and can be matched to a company's branding, and forms resize automatically for desktops, tablets and phones.

Letting people save and come back

The Save and Return feature suits long forms. Visitors create a login, or are matched against a list of approved logins, and can leave a form half finished and return later, or look at and resubmit an earlier result. The form owner decides whether login is always required or optional, whether results can be updated after completion, whether one account may submit more than one result, and whether deadlines apply. The login page can carry the owner's own header text and logo. Accounts are separate for each form, so one login never opens another form's results.

Payments

Order forms can take payments through PayPal, Stripe, Braintree and Authorize.net, or collect by check, and the service also lets a business process payments by its own methods.

Results, reports and connections

Results arrive in real time by email alert. They can be exported, turned into shareable reports with tables and graphs, or saved as PDF and Word documents. Formsite connects to services including Salesforce, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Dropbox, Mailchimp, Slack, Box, OneDrive, Amazon S3, Constant Contact, Google Calendar and DocuSign, and links to thousands of others through Zapier. An API and server post option sends results to a company's own systems.
