Epicor Kinetic
New· 7Manufacturing-focused ERP for discrete and mixed-mode production.
About Epicor Kinetic
Epicor Kinetic is the current name for Epicor's flagship manufacturing ERP, previously sold as Epicor ERP and, before that, Epicor E10. Unlike broad horizontal suites that add manufacturing as one module among many, Kinetic is built around the manufacturing operation itself, and its depth is in production rather than in generic back-office functionality.
It supports the range of production modes manufacturers actually run: make-to-stock, make-to-order, engineer-to-order, configure-to-order and mixed-mode operations that combine them. Around that sit bills of material and routings, job and work order management, advanced planning and scheduling with finite capacity, material requirements planning, shop-floor data collection, and manufacturing execution with machine and labour tracking. Product configuration handles the engineer-to-order and configure-to-order cases where each order produces a different specification.
Quality and compliance are treated as core rather than as an add-on, with inspection plans, non-conformance and corrective action handling, and lot and serial traceability — capability that matters in regulated and safety-critical supply chains such as aerospace, automotive and medical devices. Supply chain covers purchasing, inventory, warehouse management and shipping, and the suite includes financial management, project accounting, customer relationship management, field service and human capital functionality so the manufacturing core does not need a separate back office.
The interface is browser-based, and Epicor has invested in embedded analytics and in low-code extension through an application studio so customers can adapt screens and workflows without forking the product. Integration is through published REST APIs.
It is delivered either as a cloud service running on Microsoft Azure or installed on-premise, and Epicor maintains industry-specific configurations for sectors including industrial machinery, fabricated metals, electronics, automotive and aerospace. It is most often evaluated by small and mid-market manufacturers alongside Infor CloudSuite Industrial, SYSPRO, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and IFS.
