Sources in Vehicle factsThe SU7 is the sedan in Xiaomi's electric range, and the current generation is aimed at drivers who want a long-distance four-door with a full set of driver assistance hardware fitted to every version. It is sold in China in Standard, Pro and Max grades, with a separate SU7 Ultra performance model above them. The starting price shown on Xiaomi's China site is 219,900 yuan.
Xiaomi quotes a range of up to 902 km on the CLTC cycle, covering the line-up rather than one named version. All versions use a silicon carbide high-voltage platform. Peak voltage is 752V on the Standard and Pro and 897V on the Max, and Xiaomi says the higher figure supports faster charging and better efficiency. The motor is Xiaomi's Super Motor V6s Plus.
Every SU7 is fitted with a lidar that Xiaomi gives a detection range of up to 200 m, a 4D millimeter-wave radar and a 700 TOPS computing platform. The Xiaomi XLA cognitive model works across parking, city driving and highway driving, including parking-level guidance in shopping-centre car parks. Xiaomi states that the system does not replace the driver, who must watch the road and be ready to take control.
The driver's seat is a sport seat with 18-way adjustment and 10-point massage as standard. Rear cushions are padded for long journeys, and all four doors have laminated acoustic glass. A 105 L front trunk can hold a 20 inch suitcase, a 4.4 L fridge cools to -6 degrees C or heats to 50 degrees C and holds six cans, and there are 29 storage spaces in the cabin. Standard and Pro versions have 14 speakers, while the Max has 25, along with a dual-zone smart-tint sunroof and an electric rear spoiler. Nine airbags are fitted, including two rear side airbags.
Pro and Max versions add closed dual-chamber air springs and variable CDC dampers. All versions have wider 265 mm rear tyres and four-piston front calipers, which are Brembo units on the Max. Wheels range from 19 to 21 inches.
