TrustList summary

The LEAF is the electric hatchback for people who want a normal-sized family car that happens to be electric, with a big boot, five seats and range for a week of commuting. Nissan sells the all-new LEAF in the UK in Engage, Advance, Engage+ and Evolve trims, with a choice of two batteries.

Range, batteries and charging

The 52 kWh battery is offered on Engage and Advance only, while Engage+ and Evolve use the 75 kWh pack. On the WLTP combined cycle Nissan gives 387 miles for the 75 kWh Engage, falling to 361 miles for the Evolve on larger wheels, and 280 miles for the 52 kWh Engage. The 75 kWh version has 218 PS and charges on DC at up to 150 kW. The 52 kWh version has 177 PS and accepts up to 105 kW. Nissan estimates 35 minutes for a 10 to 80 percent charge with either battery. Both carry an 11 kW on-board AC charger. Vehicle-to-Grid is listed as enabled with a compatible Nissan Home Charger, available later in 2026.

Space and trims

Boot space is 437 litres with the seats up and 1,052 litres with them folded. The Engage has 18 inch alloy wheels, dual 12.3 inch screens, ProPILOT with Navi-link and paddle shifts for regeneration control. Advance and Engage+ move to dual 14.3 inch screens, and the Advance adds a head-up display, a panoramic roof and a power tailgate. The Evolve adds 19 inch alloys, a nine-speaker Bose audio system and a massaging eight-way driver seat. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available at no charge.

Driver assistance and ownership

ProPILOT Assist is designed for highways with barriers between the carriageways, and Nissan states that the driver must keep eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Nissan's UK warranty page gives the LEAF a battery warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles. Connected services run through the MyNISSAN app, and some free services last five years. UK prices on the configurator include the £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
