TrustList summary

The ET5 is NIO's mid-size saloon, for a driver who wants all-wheel drive, a big display cabin and the option of swapping batteries instead of waiting at a charger. NIO describes it as supercar DNA meeting tech aesthetics, and it is sold in China.

Drive and battery

Dual-motor all-wheel drive is standard, with a 210 kW rear permanent magnet motor using a silicon carbide power module and a 150 kW front induction motor. NIO quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds in Sport Plus mode and 5.9 seconds in Sport mode. The long range version uses a 100 kWh battery, and a 150 kWh pack is offered as a flexible upgrade for the ultralong range version. Range is given on the CLTC cycle. Continuous Damping Control adjusts the suspension to the road. NIO describes the network of charging and swapping stations across China as covering all scenarios.

Cabin

The front seats are 14-way power adjustable with heating, ventilation and massage, and the seats use an 11-layer structure with Nappa leather. A 15.6 inch AMOLED center display with a 3K resolution sits alongside a 10.2 inch instrument cluster and a head-up display. The sound system has 23 speakers with 1,000 watts of output and Dirac Pro spatial audio. The panoramic glass roof spans 1.28 square metres, the center armrest holds dual 50W wireless charging pads, and the trunk opens with a kick. The NOMI Mate 3.0 companion handles voice interaction.

Driver assistance and safety

NIO Assisted and Intelligent Driving covers Navigate on Pilot Plus, Power Swap Pilot for expressways, NIO Pilot Plus, NIO Link Remote Parking Assist and Active Safety 2.0. The hardware is the Cedar S AQUILA sensing system with 29 sensors, an in-house NX9031 chip and a Qualcomm SA8295P. NIO says the features arrive progressively from the second quarter of 2025 and that the system only assists the driver. Seven airbags, including a front center airbag, are standard.
