Requests naming gemini-2.5-pro will be served by gemini-3.8-flash, and gemini-2.5-flash by gemini-3.5-flash-lite, billed at the new models' rates. Both moves bring breaking API changes, and 3.8 Flash's price doubles on 1 January.

Conductor joins Meta and deletes its Cloud workspaces on 20 November
4 November 2026: Conductor, the app developers use to run several coding agents side by side on one codebase, is joining Meta. On 4 November it stopped taking new sign-ups and downloads. Its hosted product, Conductor Cloud, goes read-only on 13 November and starts deleting user data on 20 November, so any team with work in Cloud workspaces has two weeks to move it.
Not yet independently verified. Conductor's announcement page carries no publication date and the timeline is the only dating we have; we have not read a statement from Meta. Neither side has disclosed the terms or the structure of the deal. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
"I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta," founder Charlie Holtz writes on the company's announcement page, which now carries a "Conductor from Meta" footer. The page gives no price and no deal structure, and says only that the team has "big, crazy plans for the next interface" with "something new for you to use early next year".
Two weeks for Cloud, a few months for the Mac app
The page sets out a timeline with three dates:
- Wednesday 4 November: no new sign-ups or app downloads. Existing free users cannot upgrade to Pro, and Pro users keep Pro features at no charge.
- Friday 13 November: Conductor Cloud workspaces go read-only. Old chats can be read and exported, but no new messages can be sent. Active subscribers get a refund.
- Friday 20 November: Conductor Cloud shuts down and deletion of Cloud user data begins.
The local app runs on. Conductor says it will keep receiving new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027, when it starts winding down. At that point, the company says, it will delete all Conductor user data.
Moving work out before the deletion starts
Conductor has built two exits. A Cloud workspace and its chats can be moved to a Mac by right-clicking it and choosing Transfer to local. A full archive of a user's data comes from Settings, then Account, then Export data. Teams that kept agent sessions in Cloud as a record of how code was written should export before 13 November rather than the 20th, because from the 13th the workspace can only be read, not continued.
On data use, the company's FAQ states: "We have never sold or trained on Conductor user data, and we still won't." The footer still shows a SOC 2 Type II mark. Its privacy policy is linked from the same page, and questions go to the support address the page gives.
A short life for a fast category
Conductor launched in July 2025, which the post calls "a lifetime ago". It sold a workspace for running teams of coding agents in parallel, each on its own copy of a repository, at a time when most developers still worked with a single assistant. Meta has not said whether Conductor's product will continue under its own name or be folded into something new, and the announcement does not say how many users or paying teams it had.
The practical point is narrower than the deal. A tool that held prompts, plans and agent transcripts is going away on a fixed date, and those records are often the only account of why a change was made. Our AI coding assistant software category lists six products. Conductor is not one of them.
The next date is 13 November, when Cloud stops accepting new work.

The common stock offering was raised from $22.5bn and is sold through forward sale agreements, so Meta gets no proceeds until settlement. Nvidia says it will invest $3bn.
