Kneron

Kneron is an edge AI company founded in 2015 in San Diego. It designs Neural Processing Units, or NPUs, built specifically for continuous on-device AI workloads rather than adapting GPUs, and pairs them with a secure operating system, inference software and rack-scale AI systems intended to run without relying on external cloud platforms. It says its on-device AI models can run in under 64MB for embedded deployments, and offers the KNEO platform, an app store for AI applications intended to make them as common as mobile apps. Its edge AI is applied in areas such as smart vehicles, where it supports detection of pedestrians, vehicles, traffic signs and obstacles alongside features like blind spot detection and collision warning, as well as in smart mobility, security and connected infrastructure.
