Island adds an "agentic control plane" to its enterprise browser

24 September 2026 — Island, the enterprise-browser security vendor, announced on 24 September 2026 that it has raised a new funding round led by Evolution Equity Partners, with its existing investor group — including Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, Insight Partners and J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners — participating alongside a personal investment from cybersecurity entrepreneur Dmitri Alperovitch. Island's own release states the round at $400 million and puts the company's valuation at $6.4 billion.

What's changing

• Island built its business on an enterprise browser that isolates and controls how staff use the web.
