ForensicDbg

ForensicDbg is a post-mortem debugger for native Windows programs, x86 and x64, from Stern Look, shown by its founder on 23 September 2026 and reported by RuntimeWire the same day. It opens crash dumps, attaches to live processes and can be registered as the system’s just-in-time debugger. Its engine validates call stacks, works out types and follows chains of references — symbols, vtables, heap allocation metadata — to label memory automatically, and it can rebuild some read-only regions missing from a minidump by simulating the Windows loader’s relocations and import fix-ups. It includes a C++ expression evaluator and supports SourceServer and SourceLink. An MCP server lets an AI coding assistant query the debugger’s interpreted findings rather than raw memory, which the maker says cuts token use and invented answers; that is the maker’s claim. It is in a free, invitation-only private beta with no published price, so the buying question today is whether a team shipping native Windows software wants to shape a tool early, not what it costs. The name is close to WinDbg and x64dbg, the established Windows debuggers, but it is a separate product.
