Bolt Forge

Bolt Forge is a third agent inside Bolt.new, sitting beside Standard and Max, and it uses open-source models exclusively. It has been in research preview since 14 September 2026, running to 14 October. It suits people building in Bolt who want more usage than the proprietary agents allow, and who accept that their sessions may be used to train the open models.

What Bolt Forge does

• Open-model agent: builds in Bolt using GLM 5.3 Flash, GLM 5.3, Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro, with GLM 5.3 Flash recommended for most work.
• Larger allowance: gives far more usage than Standard and Max, because open models cost less to serve.
• Model switching: lets users change the open model from the agent picker.
• Two routes in: included with individual Pro plans during the preview, or through Bolt Lite, a standalone plan that is behind a waitlist.

Clients

Individual Pro subscribers and people on the Bolt Lite waitlist. Forge is not offered on Teams or Enterprise plans.
