Zootrition

Zootrition is a dietary management program for zoo and wildlife professionals. Managers use it to compare the nutritional content of food items and work out the overall composition of an animal's diet. It also helps them spot possible deficiencies and toxicities.

What Zootrition offers

• Feedstuff database — nutritional data on more than 3000 feedstuffs, drawn from published information on human, livestock, pet and wild foods.
• Energy calculations — daily calorie or joule needs for many mammals, birds and reptiles, based on body weight, feeding habits, activity and physiological state.
• Diet building — combine ingredients into diets and feeding records with schedules and preparation notes, and save in-house mixes such as salads or seed blends for reuse.
• Comparison module — set feedstuffs, diets and published recommendations side by side in a spreadsheet layout.
• Ordering and delivery tools — scale preparation, bulk-order ingredients and produce food delivery reports by linking diets to animal inventory and enclosure details.
• Reports and forms — customisable summary and detailed reports, plus downloadable consultation, research and evaluation forms.
