DigitalOcean is a cloud provider aimed at developers and start-ups. Its core product is the Droplet, a virtual machine that a customer creates and manages through a control panel or API.

Droplets come in Basic, CPU-optimised, general-purpose, memory-optimised and storage-optimised families, and the provider also lists bare-metal GPU machines as a product. Billing is per second under its pricing page, which states that this applies from 1 January 2026, with a minimum charge of 60 seconds or $0.01. Its product catalogue extends beyond virtual machines to storage and related services, which are billed separately from Droplets and are outside the scope of this record.

According to its Droplet pricing page in October 2026, Basic Droplets start from $4.00 a month for 512 MiB of RAM and one vCPU. Data-centre locations are listed on a separate regions page that was not available when this record was prepared, so no locations are stated here.
