Cloud ecommerce platform for mid-sized and large retailers and wholesalers selling across several channels
Records a watermarked video of each parcel being packed, started and stopped by barcode scans, so Indian ecommerce sellers and 3PL warehouses can contest empty-box and damage claims at ₹1 an order.
Not yet independently verified. Dated from the Show HN post of 7 November 2026, as the site gives no launch date. The dispute results on the site are the maker's own claims, and the page names neither the company behind it nor a city. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
Marketplace disputes over empty boxes and wrong items are the reason Shiptape exists. It records a video of each order on the packing table, so a seller has something to attach when Meesho, Flipkart or Amazon debits an account or a courier refuses a transit claim.
An operator scans the order barcode on the pick list or invoice, and recording starts from a USB webcam or phone above the table. The parcel is packed and sealed in view of the camera, and scanning the courier label stops the recording, adds a watermark and uploads it. The operator never touches a keyboard or mouse. Recordings are 720p, kept in cloud storage for 60 days, and can be found by tracking number or order ID.
Pricing is ₹1 per recorded order, with 10 free recordings on sign-up and, the site says, no setup fee or contract. It is aimed at direct-to-consumer brands selling higher-value goods and at third-party logistics warehouses. The site offers a calculator that estimates what a seller loses each month to claims it cannot contest; the figures depend on the inputs a seller enters.
Launched: Show HN, 7 November 2026 Pricing: ₹1 per recorded order, first 10 free Hardware: any USB webcam or phone Retention: 60 days of cloud backup Market: ecommerce sellers in India
