BlackStraw

BlackStraw builds AI and data systems for enterprises, from strategy through to deployment and running costs. Its work spans document automation, analytics platforms and agent-based tools for complex software migrations.

What BlackStraw offers

• AI strategy — finding use cases and defining how AI fits a business, including an AI canvas that maps opportunities across an organisation.
• Intelligent document automation — computer vision and natural language processing that classify documents and pull out key data with little human review.
• Agentic AI — autonomous agents for legacy code migration and multi-agent orchestration.
• Enterprise data platforms — modern data foundations, retail data unification and hybrid data mesh set-ups on Databricks.
• Generative AI — an enterprise Gen AI platform, conversational AI and automated drafting of summaries and contracts.
• Optimisation — monitoring deployed models for cost and performance.

Who it works with

Its document tools target mortgage, banking, healthcare, courts and government. Case studies include invoice extraction for a multinational logistics firm and data capture for a global VAT refund company, and its reviewers work in healthcare staffing, energy utilities and market research.
