Agile Robots SE is a robotics company based in Munich that combines artificial intelligence with industrial robots. Its own description is a provider of next-generation automation solutions for industries and services. It was founded in 2018 by researchers from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and it has since grown through acquisitions into a group that covers robot arms, a humanoid, mobile robots and complete production systems.
The product pages list the Agile ONE humanoid, the Diana 7 arm, the Thor series, the Agile Hand, mobile robotics and a software layer called AgileCore. Diana 7 was the first robot, shown in 2019: a lightweight seven-axis industrial arm used for sensitive handling such as fitting electronic components in phones and computers. Agile ONE was introduced in November 2025. The company describes it as a humanoid for the production floor with two dexterous hands of modular fingers and 21 joints, force and tactile sensors, cameras and lidar, speech recognition, a chest display and expressive eyes, and a walking speed of two metres per second. It is trained on industrial data, simulation, teleoperation and human demonstration data, and is positioned as one part of a wider production ecosystem rather than a stand-alone machine.
The company says its products are made for customers in the automotive, electronics, healthcare and service industries, with manufacturing and logistics named as tasks for Agile ONE. It lists production sites in Europe, America and Asia. On 29 September 2026 it announced a partnership with Hitachi on Physical AI for manufacturing.
The about page names Dr. Zhaopeng Chen as chief executive and founder, and Peter Meusel as co-founder. SoftBank joined in 2021 and is described as the anchor investor. Group members named on the site are Franka Robotics (force-sensitive arms for research and applications), idealworks (a BMW Group spin-off for mobile robots), BAER Automation and Krause Automation (automation and assembly systems) and XNG Automation in India, in which it took a majority stake in 2026. It also acquired the voice AI company audEERING in 2025. Offices include Munich and Kaufbeuren in Germany, Palo Alto in the US, several Chinese cities, and Bengaluru and Chennai in India.
