AnyDesk

AnyDesk is remote desktop software made by AnyDesk Software GmbH of Stuttgart, Germany. It is used for three things: reaching one's own computers remotely, supporting other people's devices, and working on an office machine from elsewhere. Sessions can be interactive, with someone at the other end accepting the request, or unattended.

AnyDesk runs on Windows, macOS, Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, openSUSE), FreeBSD, Raspberry Pi, Chrome OS, Android, iOS and Apple TV. It can also share the screen of Android and iOS devices. The feature pages list:

• desktop sharing, a file manager for transfers, and text chat before and during sessions;
• session recording, privacy mode and a whiteboard;
• Wake-on-LAN and remote printing;
• a REST API, custom-branded clients, and mass deployment through MSI packages and Windows Group Policy.

On security, AnyDesk describes TLS 1.3, RSA 2048 key exchange and AES-256 transport encryption, with time-based two-factor authentication. Single sign-on and on-premises hosting come with the Ultimate plan. AnyDesk says the software is free for personal use with a limited set of features.

• Standard: US$35.90 per connection.
• Advanced: US$77.90 for two connections.
