BYD Seal 6 DM-i

Sleek saloon

The Seal 6 DM-i is a plug-in hybrid saloon with ocean-inspired styling: a wave-shaped grille, crystal-style headlights with a Double-L signature, layered LED-matrix tail-lights and dual waistlines. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. The fastback profile, active air intake grille and integrated door handles bring a drag coefficient of 0.248, which BYD links to lower fuel use. The boot holds 491 litres and the rear seats fold down for larger loads, such as luggage, gear or oversized items on long trips and weekend escapes.

Cabin

A 15.6-inch floating touchscreen dominates the dashboard. Seats have one-piece headrests and, on the page's description, power adjustment, memory, ventilation and heating. The rear cabin is described as roomy enough to rival larger models, so every seat gets space to relax on longer drives. A panoramic sunroof is included, and heated steering is offered on higher trims.

Hybrid performance

Super Hybrid with DM technology gives a 0-100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds. BYD quotes up to 1,505 km of combined range with fuel consumption of 1.5 L/100 km, plus up to 140 km of pure-electric range in town. The battery can be refilled at home through a built-in AC charger, or with fast DC charging.

Safety

The driving-assistance suite lists parking sensors, parking cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assistance, driver fatigue management and front and rear cross traffic alert.
