Online OCR is a web-based optical character recognition service. Users upload scanned PDFs, faxes or photographs and receive editable, searchable files back, with no software to install.

Features

Image to text: extracts text from JPG, BMP and PNG pictures, keeping the layout of the original.
PDF conversion: turns scanned PDFs, including multi-page files, into Word, Excel or text.
Output formats: Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, RTF, HTML and plain text.
Device support: works from phones running iOS or Android and from Windows, Linux and macOS computers.

Key facts

File size limit: 15 MB
Guest use: no registration needed; uploaded files are deleted automatically after conversion, with a limit of 15 files per hour
Registered users: output files are kept for one month
