SAM Labs is an ed-tech company that empowers teachers with the most engaging STEAM solution including lesson plans, apps, and electronics. Our goal is to inspire every student to discover the fun in coding and creating. By combining highly engaging software with intuitive, user-friendly hardware, SAM Labs products help educators teach coding and engineering to children of all skill sets and interests.

SAM Labs focuses on building products that capture every student’s imagination. We offer a complete solution for educators by providing in-classroom support for both the early adopter and the tech-hesitant teacher, offering fully integrated and curriculum-based lesson plans and hands-on educator support. Students use SAM Labs to design, write and debug programs, applying sequencing, selection, and iteration.

They will use logical reasoning to write algorithms, incorporating variables, inputs, and outputs. Using the blocks and app, they will learn to control and simulate physical systems. With partners like Intel Education and Microsoft Education, we aim to bring coding to every classroom around the world.

Our CEO Joachim Horn founded the company in 2014 and SAM Labs is now present in schools around the world. As a mechanical engineering graduate, Joachim was working in Tokyo when the idea for SAM Labs came to him over a bowl of soba noodles. He wanted to create technology to help students code and create their own connected devices. Joachim fused his passion for education, design, and tech to develop what is now SAM Labs.
