Beezer.com

Beezer.com runs a platform for creating and distributing mobile apps without writing code. Users upload their content and the platform turns it into an app that can be shared directly with an audience.

Its founders argue that the app-store model is a poor fit for many organisations. Beezer.com therefore lets customers send their app by link rather than listing it in a store, and the same app runs on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

What Beezer.com offers

• Self-built mobile apps — customers assemble their own app by uploading content, with no developer skills needed.
• Direct distribution — apps are shared by SMS, email, website widget and social media.
• Cross-platform delivery — one app works across the major phone systems.
• Analytics — reports on the reach and engagement of each app.

Who it works with

The platform is aimed at marketing managers, event organisers and business owners, including organisations that could not afford a custom-built app.

Key facts

• Distribution: direct sharing instead of app-store listing
