Quail

Quail is point-of-sale software made for multi-vendor stores such as antique malls, vendor malls and consignment shops. The team behind it runs shops of its own and built the system to replace handwritten sales books and rent spreadsheets.

What Quail offers

• Point of sale — a checkout tuned for fast ringing-up, with the option to hold a sale open while a customer keeps browsing.
• Vendor rent and fees — charges vendors a monthly booth rent, a consignment fee on each item, or a mix of the two.
• Sales reporting — shows daily or monthly totals for the whole store or for any single vendor.
• Layaway tracking — records items and part-payments under whatever layaway policy the store uses.
• Weekly vendor summaries — emails each vendor a summary of their sales automatically every week.
• Switching support — a route for stores moving over from other consignment systems, with an introductory period of access.

Who it works with

Quail serves antique stores, antique dealers, vendor malls, consignment shops and collectors, mainly in the United States, and handles problems particular to stores with many vendors, such as booth rental and mid-month vendor reports.
