ProjectWizards

ProjectWizards is an owner-run family company from Melle in Lower Saxony, Germany, and since 2004 it has focused on planning tools for Apple hardware. Merlin Project, the flagship, runs natively on Mac, iPad and iPhone instead of in a browser, so plans stay editable offline. The company reports more than 150,000 users in over 160 countries.

What ProjectWizards offers

• Merlin Project views — Gantt with baselines and the critical path, a Kanban board, a mind map and a workload chart, all reading from one plan.
• Resource planning — tasks can take staff, materials, equipment or outside firms, and double-booking shows up across every project.
• MagicSync — patented syncing through iCloud Drive, Dropbox or other cloud storage, with no server needed.
• File exchange — reads and writes files for Microsoft Project (XML and MPX), OmniPlan, MindManager and OPML, plus CSV and iCalendar, and produces PDF reports.
• Merlin Project Express — a lighter edition of the app.
• adoc Studio — a writing app for AsciiDoc documentation.
