GroupMap

GroupMap is web software for running brainstorming and group decisions, whether participants share a room or sit on different continents. Jeremy Lu and Brad Ward founded it in 2012, and it reports use in over 140 countries across more than 550,000 sessions. Facilitators design the flow, and participants add, rate and discuss ideas.

What GroupMap offers

• Templates: over 130 brainstorming templates in four styles, such as Six Thinking Styles, DMAIC, SMART goals, the Business Model Canvas and agile retrospectives.
• Facilitation controls: workspaces, locked and unlocked steps, timers, polls, facilitator, participant and observer roles, and anonymity set to off, partial or full.
• Prioritisation: independent rating of ideas so the strongest options stand out without group bias.
• Reports: a full record of each activity, produced without manual collation.
• AI assistance: idea generation, theme detection and summaries; customer data is not used to train AI models.
