Polka Dot Sky Software

Polka Dot Sky Software made alerting products that local governments use to keep residents informed about services affecting their block. In December 2022 the business merged into KZN Consulting, Inc., which trades as Kaizen, and its products continued under the Kaizen name. Its alerting service, sold as Unified Alerts alongside a public works edition called MyDPW, is now called service alerts and covers street sweeping, trash and recycling collection, leaf collection and snow. Each alert is matched to an address, a service route or a licence plate, and reaches only the residents on the affected block, by text, email or push notification as each resident chose, with departments given their own branding, schedules and message templates. The public works edition has run for the DC Department of Public Works since 2017. During the pandemic the business also packaged its alerts into ready-to-launch campaigns for wellness checks, quarantine monitoring, test result delivery and contact tracing.
