Paragon Software Systems

Paragon Software Systems is a United Kingdom maker of routing and scheduling software for transport operations and is now part of Aptean, which sells the product as Aptean Routing & Scheduling, Paragon Edition. Planners load their delivery data and the software produces workable routes that aim to lower transport costs and make better use of vehicles and drivers.

What Paragon Software Systems offers

• Route optimisation — takes delivery addresses, order volumes, time windows, vehicle sizes and driver shifts and builds routes that meet customer delivery needs.
• What-if planning — uses historical data to test changes such as larger vehicles or smaller, more frequent drops.
• Editions by scale — versions for single-site operations, fleets spread across several depots, and complex networks with collections, several warehouses and production sites.
• Smarter Mapping — an add-on that accounts for one-way streets, road speeds and restrictions, including for urban planning.
• Further modules — options such as Paragon Live and business modelling to extend the core product.

Who it works with

It serves transport and distribution operations of different sizes; a published case study covers the logistics firm Whistl.
