Matterport

Matterport describes itself as a spatial data company that digitises buildings. Its platform converts a scanned property into an accurate 3D digital twin that people can walk through and measure, for use in designing, constructing, running, marketing or insuring it. CoStar Group completed its purchase of Matterport on 28 February 2025, and at that point Matterport reported that more than 14 million spaces in 177 countries had been captured on its platform.

What Matterport offers

• Capture — spaces can be scanned using Matterport's Pro3 LiDAR camera or a 360 camera, tablet or phone.
• Digital twins — walk-through 3D models with room labels, tags, measurements and AI tools that remove furniture from view.
• Property marketing — 3D tours, floor plans and print-quality photos, which can be published to Google Street View and CoStar's listing sites.
• Technical files — schematic plans and MatterPak data, and on upper tiers CAD, BIM and e57 exports.
• Capture Services — Matterport technicians can scan a property on the customer's behalf, delivering the twin within one to two days in many cases.
• Industry packages — bundles for facilities teams, corporate real estate, and design and construction firms, the last linking to Autodesk and Procore.
