Concrete CMS

Concrete CMS is an open-source system for building and editing websites, intranets and portals, released under the MIT licence. Until version 9 in 2021 it went by the name concrete5, and its core team at PortlandLabs in Portland, Oregon, now concentrates on hosting and support for the software.

What Concrete CMS offers

• In-page editing: content is changed directly on the live page with a WYSIWYG editor, and most needs are met without extensions.
• Permissions and workflow: roles, groups and access rules down to a single block, approval steps, change logs and version history.
• Security and hosting: ISO 27001 certified security out of the box, plus hosting options that meet SOC 2 and HIPAA requirements.
• Site features: scheduled publishing, SEO tools, multilingual sites and third-party integrations.
• Marketplace: themes and add-ons, with documentation, forums and regular community town halls.

Who it serves

Concrete CMS names banking, manufacturing, healthcare, education and government among the sectors it serves. BASF is quoted as a customer, and the U.S. Army runs a web presence on it that many editors maintain. It also covers intranets and dealer portals for manufacturers.
