Bavarian start-up (Finches GmbH, founded 2025) offering sourcing-risk alerts to buyers of agricultural raw materials. Announced a €2m pre-seed led by HTGF in October 2026.
Finches is a Bavarian start-up, registered as Finches GmbH, that sells sourcing intelligence to companies buying agricultural raw materials. It was founded in 2025. Its premise is that supply shortages begin in the fields, so a buyer should hear about drought, disease, labour shortages or trade disputes at the source before they reach the warehouse.
Finches watches events at the places where crops are grown and matches them to a customer's own raw materials, origins and suppliers. Each alert says what a signal means for that business and what to do next. An agentic system reads each signal against the regions, farms, crops and varieties the customer has registered. Customers can also add recipes, so that an alert shows which finished products a crop problem could affect.
The company lists weather, satellite, soil, crop science, local news, trade rules, field visits, lab results and the customer's own documents as inputs. A mobile app lets agronomists record farm visits by voice, photo and notes, including offline, and turns them into structured reports. A shared workspace puts those visits beside live signals, and users can browse by supplier or ask questions in plain language.
Finches says it is live with enterprise food manufacturers. It addresses procurement teams that want to spot short harvests in time to adjust contracted volumes, agronomists who want to act while crops are still growing, and quality teams that set testing priorities by risk. It also names R&D and supply chain planning, and says it works with origins whether a buyer purchases from farms directly or through traders and processors.
