Elementary Data is a data observability company; its acquisition was announced from Tel Aviv, Israel, and Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. It began in 2022 as an open-source project and launched a paid product, Elementary Cloud, in 2024. In October 2026 it was acquired by Boomi, the integration and data platform company, and its site now states that it is joining Boomi. Its chief executive and co-founder is Maayan Salom.
Elementary describes its product as a data and AI control plane that puts observability, quality, governance and discovery in one place, built on a context engine that gathers metadata, lineage, logs, validations and health signals. It monitors pipelines for freshness, volume and quality anomalies, runs data tests and machine-learning monitors, and traces column-level lineage across ingestion, transformation, semantic layers, BI tools and AI. A shared catalogue records ownership, tags and health scores. AI agents create tests, triage incidents, enrich metadata, find breaking changes and suggest query performance fixes, and an MCP server exposes data context and health to AI tools. Engineers manage tests, rules and metadata in code, while business users can explore data and add validations.
Elementary is aimed at data engineering and analytics teams, and at the business users who rely on their data. Boomi's release says the open-source project is used by more than 1,500 data teams, is downloaded over 1.1 million times a month and has a community of about 4,000 members.
Elementary Cloud is priced by seats and environments. The Scale plan covers up to 10 editor seats and 1,000 tables, and Enterprise up to 20 editor seats, 40 viewer seats and 3,000 tables, adding SSO, role-based access control and advanced deployment options; extra tables are charged per thousand, and prices are given on request.
