Collabora Productivity, based in Cambridge in the UK, develops Collabora Online and Collabora Office, an open-source office suite built on LibreOffice that organisations run on their own servers or inside platforms such as Nextcloud.
Collabora Productivity is a Cambridge, UK software company that develops Collabora Online and Collabora Office, an open-source office suite based on LibreOffice. Its pitch is document editing that an organisation hosts itself, on its own infrastructure, so that files stay under its control. The company says it has more than 60 staff alongside its leadership team, led by chief executive Michael Meeks.
Collabora Online is a browser-based editor for text documents, spreadsheets, presentations and drawings, with several people able to work on a file at once. It supports the main document formats, including Microsoft Office files, and is commonly embedded in file-sharing and intranet platforms through integrations. Collabora Office brings the same editor to the desktop, Collabora Office Classic keeps the traditional LibreOffice-style interface, and there are apps for iOS, Android and Chromebooks. CODE, the Collabora Online Development Edition, is a free version for testing and home use, and a Built-in CODE Server app packages it for Nextcloud. For large deployments the company sells Collabora Online Controller, and it publishes an SDK and offers consultancy for integrators.
The company aims at organisations that want an alternative to the big hosted office suites, citing data sovereignty and GDPR compliance as reasons to host their own. It sells through a network of partners and integrations, Nextcloud among them, and publishes pricing and quotes on its site. In October 2026 it disclosed a critical flaw in the Built-in CODE Server app, fixed in version 26.4.303, and said it was applying to become a CVE Numbering Authority.
