CloudSponge

CloudSponge is a US company whose Contact Picker lets people pull contacts from their webmail address books into a website form, instead of typing each address. Sites use it on refer-a-friend forms, invitation and e-card recipient lists and find-a-friend searches, and the company says it runs on thousands of websites.

What CloudSponge offers

• Contact Picker — a mobile-first, responsive list where users search and select contacts without leaving the site.
• Webmail coverage — connections to widely used webmail providers worldwide; sites can limit the menu to familiar providers or place provider logos directly on the page.
• Flexible installation — setup on any HTML page, in WordPress, or as a replacement for mailto links, with webhooks, callbacks and form integrations.
• Customisation — dozens of options, including showing address-book data beyond email addresses.
• Integration monitoring — provider connections watched around the clock on a public status page.

Who it works with

E-commerce stores running referral programmes, sites sending invitations or e-cards, and social networks or CRM products that let new users upload address books.
