About Apache Software Foundation

The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is a charitable body in the United States that has given open source projects a neutral home since 1999. Volunteers do almost all of its work, and donations from individuals and corporate sponsors pay for it. Everything it releases is free to use, and anyone can contribute code, documentation or ideas.
