Toyota Urban Cruiser

The Urban Cruiser is the small electric SUV in Toyota's UK range, aimed at drivers who want a higher driving position and city-sized dimensions with a range that covers more than the daily commute. Toyota describes the design as a true SUV with strong presence, and the car is front-wheel drive with an automatic gearbox.

Range, power and charging

Toyota quotes a WLTP range of 213 to 264 miles (up to about 425 km), depending on grade. The motor is rated at 128 kW (174 hp), and Toyota gives 8.7 to 9.6 seconds for 0 to 62 mph. A charge from 10 to 80 percent takes about 45 minutes. A Type 2 cable is included for AC charging. Toyota HomeCharge costs £695 including standard installation, and the Toyota Charging Network offers over one million public chargers across the UK and Europe.

Inside and driver assistance

Twin displays hold the driving instruments and the multimedia touchscreen, with voice control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a JBL audio system. Standard safety and assistance equipment includes the Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring. Euro NCAP gave the Urban Cruiser four stars in 2025, a rating recorded on the basis of standard equipment. The MyToyota app is available.

Grades, price and warranty

The Design and Excel grades are listed, and the Excel can be had with bi-tone paint. UK prices start at £31,995 for the base grade, with the Design at £32,945 and the Excel at £34,995. Those prices include a £1,500 Electrified Saving for private orders placed between 1 October and 15 December 2026 and registered by 31 March 2027. The vehicle warranty is three years or 60,000 miles, extendable to ten years or 100,000 miles, and the traction battery has an eight year or 100,000 mile warranty, with the Battery Care Warranty extending it to ten years or one million miles with eligible services.
