The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is a small five-door electric hatchback measuring 3.92 metres in length. The United Kingdom page lists four versions: evolution, techno+, iconic five+ and Roland Garros+. Two batteries are on offer. The 40 kWh urban range battery comes with 120 hp, while the 52 kWh comfort range battery comes with 150 hp. The cabin has two 10 inch screens.
Renault states a WLTP range of up to 259 miles with the 52 kWh battery and up to 194 miles with the 40 kWh battery, noting that the figures are pending homologation. Those figures equal roughly 417 km and 312 km. All batteries accept DC fast charging. The quoted charge time is 30 minutes to go from 15 percent to 80 percent on a 100 kW DC charger, for a new car.
The page counts 28 driver assistance systems in total. Named features include active driver assist, active emergency braking, emergency lane keep assist, park assist, an occupant safe exit alert and a driver attention alert. The openR link system has Google built-in, with Google Maps navigation from the techno+ version upward, plus apps, streaming and voice control. The My Renault smartphone app handles remote vehicle management and needs a compatible iOS or Android phone that has been paired with the car.
The starting price on the United Kingdom site is 21,495 pounds for the evolution version, a figure that includes the Electric Car Grant and leaves out metallic paint.
