BREAKFAST

BREAKFAST is the studio name of artist Andrew Zolty, who makes moving sculptures that respond to live data. Working from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the studio turns things like ocean readings, carbon figures, wind and people's movement into mechanical motion, with no screens or projectors involved. Its pieces range from small collector works to landmark installations over fifty feet long, placed in more than twenty countries.

What BREAKFAST does

• Flip-Disc sculptures: thousands of small discs flipped individually to form moving images driven by data.
• Brixel sculptures: large-scale kinetic works built from individually controlled elements.
• Wind Tile sculptures: surfaces that ripple in response to wind or other inputs.
• Commissions: site-specific pieces for corporate lobbies, public spaces and private collections.

Companies commissioning lobby art, public venues, hotels and private collectors. Work has appeared at the Venice Biennale, Fontainebleau Las Vegas and 1 Hotel South Beach, and has been covered by The New York Times.
