GAC Group

GAC Group is a Chinese vehicle maker that sells under three brands: GAC, AION and HYPTEC. Its global website calls it a technology-driven company that creates value through mobility, and a news item there records that it has produced its 30 millionth vehicle. Its English site was once reached at gac.com.cn and now sits at gacgroup.com.

What it builds

The GAC brand covers sedans, sport utility vehicles and people carriers, among them the Newempow, Emkoo, Emzoom, GS4, S7, GS8, M6, M8 and E9, plus a GS7 plug-in hybrid. AION is the electric brand, with the UT hatchback, the ES sedan and the Y and V sport utility vehicles. HYPTEC is the luxury electric brand, and its HT is a sport utility vehicle. The company names five technology areas on its site: intelligent systems, engine and battery, intelligent factory, safety, and what it calls cutting-edge technology.

The site links to regional portals for roughly 27 countries and regions: five in the Americas including Brazil, Chile and Mexico, eleven in Asia Pacific including Australia, China, Thailand and Pakistan, three in Europe including France and Portugal, and eight in the Middle East and Africa including Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. Its football partnerships include being the official automotive partner of Villarreal CF through the 2027/28 season and a global partnership with Chelsea signed at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. Autonomous driving company Pony.ai lists GAC among its automaker partners.
