Grau & Associates

Grau & Associates is an association and event management firm that operates through its Global Association Partners arm, shortened to GAP. It runs associations and events across the United States and other countries, and it also helps people set up a new association from scratch.

What Grau & Associates offers

• Association management: day-to-day running of an association on behalf of its board and members.
• Event management: planning and delivering association events.
• Financial analysis: a review of an association's budget documents to suggest where spending could be reduced.
• Operational analysis: a review based on a questionnaire, aimed at meeting programme goals and developing revenue that does not come from membership dues.
• New association start-up: support for founders creating an association.

Who it serves

The firm serves associations of different kinds. Both analyses are offered whether or not the association goes on to hire the firm, and the financial review begins with a signed non-disclosure agreement before budgets are shared.

Key facts

• Working model: the principals plus selected professional contractors, which the firm says spreads workload across a shared pool of skills.
