Data Mill North

Data Mill North is an open data website for the Leeds city region, first set up by Leeds City Council. It collects datasets from public bodies in one place so that people and organisations can see how city services and businesses relate to each other.

What Data Mill North offers

• Open data portal — hosts datasets published by councils, such as business rates, contract registers and tender pipelines.
• Cross-sector data — brings information from several sectors together rather than leaving it in separate council silos.
• Shared repository — Bradford City Council uses the site for its open data, and other councils in the region have shown interest.
• Data standards work — aims to raise data quality and agree common standards, then link datasets together.

Who it works with

Councils and public bodies that publish data, and residents, businesses and developers who reuse it to understand services or build new ones.
