Ultravox

Ultravox describes itself as a research lab and product company focused on real-time voice AI. It trains a speech-native model that takes in audio directly and runs it on dedicated infrastructure, and it offers developer APIs and agent-ready building blocks for voice agents. The company explains its approach by contrasting it with the common orchestrator design, which converts speech to text, runs a language model and converts the reply back to speech. It says that design adds latency and loses tone, cadence and pitch, which makes agents sound slow and robotic, and that it began work on a purpose-built alternative after starting in 2023. The site offers a free start, a demo, pricing, a blog and a sign-in, and a customer from the sales-agent company 11x is quoted. The footer shows the legal name Fixie.ai Inc. A banner on the home page states that Ultravox has been acquired by Inworld to accelerate its speech-to-speech research and voice agent capabilities. The pages fetched do not state a headquarters city.
