Arena

Arena builds what it calls a platform for AI evaluation, with the stated mission of measuring and advancing the frontier of AI for real-world use. It grew out of a research project by UC Berkeley researchers that was first known as Chatbot Arena and later as LMArena, and in 2025 it formed Arena Intelligence Inc. to run it as a company.

The public face of the platform is a set of leaderboards. Arena publishes separate rankings for agents, overall chat, text, web development, image-to-web development, text-to-image, image editing, text-to-video, image-to-video, video editing, vision, document and search tasks. People using the site can chat with models, compare two of them side by side, build apps and websites, generate images and video, and run multi-step tasks, which is how the comparisons are gathered.

The company says it has raised 250 million dollars in venture funding in earlier rounds led by Felicis and UC Investments, with Andreessen Horowitz, The House Fund, LDVP, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Laude Ventures taking part. In October 2026 it announced a 200 million dollar Series B. Its pages give no head office address, no founder names and no prices for commercial evaluation work. Model builders and enterprises choosing between models are the natural readers of its rankings.
