Bloco

Bloco is a small, independent product studio that concentrates on Android. It designs and builds Android products, and it also helps companies that already have their own app teams.

What Bloco offers

• Android product builds — designing and developing an app from scratch.
• Training — teaching client teams how to get better results on Android.
• Team support — joining an existing team to work alongside it and improve its process.
• Android troubleshooting — help with specific problems on the platform.

Who it works with

The studio takes on client projects and also releases its own apps. These include Snowflake Volunteer, an open-source app that turns a phone into a proxy so people can reach the Tor network where it is blocked; QR Friend, a QR code scanner; and Cabinet, an app for discovering alternatives to everyday apps. The team also writes about Android practice, such as ways to check and update project dependencies.
