Emote

Emote is an API for developers building chat agents that should react to messages with an emoji, as a person might in a messaging app.

• Reaction endpoint: one call to the /v1/react endpoint takes the message, up to 12 earlier messages and optional personality text, and returns one reaction.
• Reaction sets: 12 default emojis, or up to 254 custom options, with reserved, balanced or expressive behaviour selectable.

• Privacy: message text goes to an external AI inference provider that is not named, and is not stored in Emote's own database or logs, though request metadata is kept.
• Terms: dated from 18 September 2026, with no governing law named.

The launch date rests on the maker's own Show HN post, and the terms warn that reactions can be wrong or inappropriate.
