Pulsetic is an uptime-monitoring service from Designmodo Inc., a New York company, that checks a site as often as every thirty seconds from fifteen locations and publishes status pages and alerts. Real-user monitoring is its newest addition: instead of inferring page speed from a synthetic check run in a datacentre, it collects the browser’s own measurements from the people actually using the site — the four Core Web Vitals plus the network timings that explain them — by adding a single asynchronous script. The free tier includes a thousand page views a month, which is enough to see whether the numbers are believable and not enough to run anything on; the paid rates were not published on the site when this was read. The value of this pairing is that it closes a common argument: a synthetic check says the site is up and fast, and customers say it is slow, and without field data nobody can settle which is true. What it does not do is tell you why a particular visitor was slow, which is where a full tracing product starts. For a small team already paying for uptime checks, adding field measurements to the same bill is a reasonable first step rather than a replacement for one.
