WordPress.com, run by Automattic Inc., sells hosted WordPress sites in plans from free to Business and Commerce, with domains and a global CDN.
WordPress.com is a hosted WordPress service run by Automattic Inc. It sells ready-to-use WordPress sites, where the provider handles the servers, updates and security rather than the customer. Its about page describes it as a hosted version of the open-source WordPress software, and says customers own their content and data.
Its pricing page lists a free plan and four paid tiers, with domain registration offered alongside and a global CDN included. Personal (6 GB storage) and Premium (13 GB) include a free domain for the first year, no ads, unlimited pages, posts and users, free support and access to premium themes; Premium adds more analytics, payment buttons and video upload. Business (50 GB, expandable) adds installation of plugins from a marketplace of more than 60,000, 24/7 priority support, SFTP/SSH, WP-CLI, Git and GitHub deployments, and runs on Automattic's WP Cloud platform. Commerce adds online-store features.
According to its pricing page in October 2026, yearly billing was US$4 a month for Personal, US$8 for Premium, US$25 for Business and US$45 for Commerce, while monthly billing was US$9, US$18, US$40 and US$70. As a managed service, it limits some server-level control, and plugin installation depends on the plan.
