About Third Point

Third Point is a hedge fund headquartered in New York that Daniel S. Loeb founded in 1995, and it describes itself as an employee-owned, SEC-registered investment adviser. It invests opportunistically in public and private markets globally, across equities, corporate and structured credit, private credit, collateralised loan obligations, and venture capital, taking both long and short positions. The firm recently acquired Birch Grove, a diversified credit asset manager, which it says brings additional credit strategies to its offerings. Daniel S. Loeb serves as chief executive and chief investment officer, having spent his career investing in equities, credit and venture capital and serving on a number of public company boards. Other senior figures include Josh Targoff, a former general counsel in investment banking, and Ian Wallace, who previously ran a distressed-debt-focused hedge fund before joining the firm in 2009.
