A digital storage media manufacturer with a history dating back to 1983

Moser Baer traces its history back to 1983 in New Delhi, when it began by producing time recorder units, before moving into digital storage with floppy disks in 1985 and 3.5-inch diskettes in 1993. From 1999 the company focused on optical discs, building a plant to manufacture recordable CD-Rs and DVD recordables, later adding recordable Blu-ray discs in 2007, and at one point exported around 85 percent of its production to more than 100 countries. In 2007 it also began manufacturing solar panels and LED lighting, and in 2016 it partnered with Phison Electronics to expand into flash media. The company was ordered into liquidation following bankruptcy in September 2018. In 2020, Vinpower took over production of its optical disc and flash media product lines, which continue to be sold globally under the Moser Baer name in both professional and consumer grades.
